Day 1000

1/ The White House is conducting its own investigation into why a rough transcript of Trump's July 25 call with Ukrainian President Zelensky was placed into a secret server for secure storage. Trump's advisers and White House lawyers began the fact-finding review to find out why deputy White House counsel, John Eisenberg, placed the rough transcript of the call in a computer system typically reserved for the country's most closely guarded secrets. Eisenberg has said he limited access to the transcript over concerns about leaks. It is unclear who asked for or initiated the review, though acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney has encouraged it and his aids are helping with it. Some officials fear the review is intended to assign blame for the impeachment inquiry. (New York Times)

Trump Rages at Pelosi and Mattis in White House ‘Meltdown’

Democratic leaders ended the meeting because Trump, they said, “was just not relating to the reality of it.”

Trump calls Mattis ‘world’s most overrated general’ over ISIS comments

Trump cut Schumer off, according to two Democratic aides, and said that Mattis was “the world’s most overrated general.”

“You know why? He wasn’t tough enough,” Trump said, according to the aides. “I captured ISIS. Mattis said it would take two years. I captured them in one month.”

They have just announced the next G7 will be at Trump’s Doral resort, claim he won’t benefit financially from that, and Mick Mulvaney ADMITTED Trump could just invite Putin to attend.

There’s not even a thinly veiled attempt to hide the corruption.

Trump is now celebrating Pence and Pompeo arranging a ceasefire between Turkey and Syria.

In doing so, he openly admits that millions of lives were at risk.

He ignores the fact that HE created this situation.

To be clear, this is not over. The ceasefire is 120 days, and the Kurds are being forced to surrender the lands they’ve lived in and retreat. This is an utter defeat for them, and it still may not be the end.

Mick Mulvaney is going straight at it today…declaring that the Doral is the best choice for the G7 leaders, next year. Doral has only 2 executive suites…with at least 5 more needed.

T 'n Co are going at this with guns a blazing…

Trump has awarded next year’s G-7 summit of world leaders to his Miami-area resort, the White House said

President Trump has awarded the 2020 Group of Seven summit of world leaders to his private company, scheduling the summit for June at his Trump Doral golf resort outside Miami, the White House announced Thursday.

That decision is without precedent in modern American history: The president used his public office to direct a massive contract to himself. The G-7 summit draws hundreds of diplomats, journalists and security personnel and provides a worldwide spotlight.

The announcement that the president’s club would host the international summit comes as Trump is in the midst of twin crises that are consuming his presidency — a hasty and confused American retreat in Syria and a growing impeachment inquiry in Congress.

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, who announced the decision, said the administration was not worried about the appearance of a conflict of interest, while he touted what the president’s resort has to offer.

“Doral was far and away the best physical facility for this meeting,” Mulvaney said. He said that the administration examined 10 sites before choosing this one. Mulvaney quoted an anonymous site selection official who he said told him, “It’s almost like they built this facility to host this type of event.” Mulvaney did not say what other sites were vetted.

Mulvaney said it was Trump’s idea to pursue the idea of hosting the event at his resort.

“What about Doral?” he said, recounting the president’s comments in the White House dining room.

Eric Trump, the president’s son and the day-to-day leader of Trump’s businesses, did not immediately respond to questions about how much the president’s company would charge the U.S. or foreign governments during the event. He also did not immediately respond to questions about whether the Trump Organization would ask taxpayers to pay for upgrades to the site. One obvious concern for next year: There will be at least eight world leaders coming to this event, but at present Doral has just two “presidential suites.”

Yup, and I have to think the prospect of inviting Putin to one of Trump’s own properties where he’d have total control of the venue and privacy is a big part of this.

If you’re wondering, we just gave a strip of Syria 20 miles deep and 250 miles wide to Turkey. It plans to keep it. It will settle some 3.6 million Syrian refugees there. We gave Turkey a new province. No wonder they’re so happy.

Ethnic cleansing isn’t always genocide. It can mean deporting or removing people you don’t want instead.

That just happened to the Kurds. Turkey has ethnically cleansed the Kurds from northern Syria, and will now claim that land for itself.
