Mentionable News

Re-upping a mini-profile of Adrienne Cobb AKA @rusticgorilla that was highlighted by @dragonfly9 and @matt back in February.

If you haven’t seen this, I really encourage you to tune in. A glimpse into Cobb’s intrepid news sleuthing is inspiring. She’s a dynamo and is on the case. Watching the free press at work, especially a truth warrior like Cobb, gives me hope!

This story is wild, and includes this tidbit:

The documents contained proposals for several ways to further exacerbate racial discord in the future, including a suggestion to recruit African-Americans and transport them to camps in Africa “for combat prep and training in sabotage.” Those recruits would then be sent back to America to foment violence and work to establish a pan-African state in the Southern U.S., including South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

And here is video of utter clown and incompetent Ben Carson, Trump’s Housing Secretary, being schooled by Rep. Katie Porter over the difference between REOs (a basic real estate term) and Oreo Cookies.

Seriously. Ben Carson Thinks ‘REO,’ a Basic Housing Term, Is an Oreo Cookie

And here is further video if him getting destroyed by @RepBeatty as he confuses Amway with OMWI (Office of Minority Women and Inclusion)…

…even though she asked him about this a year ago.

This man was a brain surgeon. Was he his own patient?

Sigh. This story keeps getting dumber.

And here is Ben Carson refusing to answer yes-or-no questions for @RepPressley because he probably doesn’t know the answers, so she reclaims her time…

…and then he tries to do that. Which is not a thing non-congress members can do.

I thought this article was a parody at first.

It is not.

And the parallels are so very, very eerie.

In what may be one of her most blatantly stupid lies yet, Sarah Huckabee Sanders is claiming that the Trump Tantrum that was timed for when he was supposed to be in his Infrastructure Week meeting with Pelosi and Schumer, for which signs were posted well ahead of time, and to which reporters were specifically summoned without explanation in the Rose Garden, was NOT premeditated.

Yeah.

Right.

A shame if true. Though not Trump actions, it relates in that it’s taking advantage of those opposing him:

A fun little article that puts all of the Infrastructure Weeks, sans the most recent one, in perspective:

Katie Rogers wrote a great piece on the running gag that we call “infrastructure week”.

At this point in the Trump presidency, “Infrastructure Week” is less a date on the calendar than it is a “Groundhog Day”-style fever dream doomed to be repeated.

In a bizarre twist today, Trump took credit for the Disaster Relief Bill he’s been trying to kill all month because it helps Puerto Rico and doesn’t fund his wall.

No, seriously.

Minutes after a tornado warning blared through the Capitol chambers, the Senate voted 85 to 8 to allocate $19.1 billion for recovery efforts across the country.

Senate Passes Long-Deferred Disaster Relief Package

The bill excluded the $4.5 billion in border funding that the White House and Republicans had demanded.

Deal struck to pass $19 billion disaster relief package without border funds

So, editing again:

A hoax is going around, videos posted of Speaker Pelosi, slowed down and tweaked to make her look drunk and stammering.

Faked Pelosi videos, slowed to make her appear drunk, spread across social media

Trump just posted one of those videos:

In a press conference today where Trump stated he was a “very calm stable genius”, he also had all of his followers stand up one by one and insist he was “very calm” in his tantrum meeting with Schumer and Pelosi yesterday.

@Windthin

FYI, this thread is for small noisy stories that aren’t really “Trump news” but kind of related and don’t quite fit anywhere else on this forum.

You seem to post mostly main stories, which easily fit on our daily threads. Don’t be afraid to hit up that daily thread. If one is not yet open, post on the previous day.

Or if you have a topic that others would help you build conversations around, by all means open a new thread. We’ve done all kinds of Trump related threads, examples include, Cohen/Stormy Daniels, Scott Pruitt, Trump’s Character, and most recently the Congressional Investigations.

Food for thought. Happy to have you here, good posting.

Thanks, I am not always certain where to put things, I admit. Several times I have dropped stories into main threads to be told to put them elsewhere, so I am striving to find the balance there. Admittedly, usually the stuff I want to post is posted already, so I am not used to finding it hasn’t been!

No worries, just wanted to clarify. If a story is already posted but you still want to talk about it, highlight some details about it that would spur more conversation. We all double post by accident, so don’t worry too much.
