The managers are scheduled to reconvene in the Capitol at 5 p.m. to finalize the articles with Ms. Pelosi in a formal “engrossment ceremony” that will mark the beginning of an elaborate, and highly orchestrated, ritual. From there, accompanied by the House clerk and sergeant-at-arms, the managers will file from the House, through the old House chamber and the Capitol Rotunda to the Senate, where Democrats will present the articles to the secretary of the Senate.
But the trial itself is not expected to start until Thursday, when the managers will most likely exhibit the articles inside the Senate chamber.
It’s so rare that we get to see this ritual. I’m kind of excited.
Tune in tonight as Rachel Maddow interviews Lev Parnas.
THIS I MUST SEE.
Impeachment managers deliver the articles of impeachment to the secretary of the Senate.

A schedule
Wary of this:
Lev Parnas, the indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani who has been implicated in an alleged attempt to pressure the Ukrainian government to dig up dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, says, "President Trump knew exactly what was going on."
"He was aware of all my movements. I wouldn’t do anything without the consent of Rudy Giuliani or the president. I have no intent, I have no reason to speak to any of these officials," Parnas, who faces campaign finance charges, told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow in an interview set to air Wednesday night.
"I mean, they have no reason to speak to me. Why would President Zelenskiy’s inner circle or Minister Avakov or all these people or President Poroshenko meet with me? Who am I? They were told to meet with me. And that’s the secret that they’re trying to keep. I was on the ground doing their work," Parnas said.
This is really all kinds of wow and it’s only the first half of the interview.
There really are no words to express how earthshaking this interview was. A flood of evidence is being released and it will be impossible for Republicans to ignore it without becoming part of the cover-up. Yes, they will do their utmost, furiously sweeping away to get this all under the carpet – they may even succeed in conducting a sham, witness-free trial in the Senate, but that will simply make them look all the more complicit in Trump’s crimes as the floodgates of evidence open.
Bottom line takeaways, IMO, from the interview:
These three should resign immediately: Barr, Pence, and Nunes. All three are up to their eyeballs in this scandal: complicit in implementing Trump’s extortion scheme and guilty of covering it up. We knew this before, but now Parnas has delivered the receipts.
The above three must also testify in the Senate trial along with Bolton and Derek Harvey (Nunes’s aide). Parnas, Fruman, and Giuliani must also testify. If all of these parties do not testify, it will be obvious to the nation that this trial is an attempted Republican con job. Parnas has provided evidence showing that all of these parties posses crucial knowledge for determining Trump’s guilt or innocence.
If you missed the interview, here are some clips available on Maddow’s blog:
P.S. Part 2 airs tomorrow – don’t miss it!
Washington, D.C. –Today, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Committee on Foreign Affairs provided additional evidence to the Committee on the Judiciary to be included as part of the official record that will be transmitted to the Senate along with the Articles of Impeachment.
The evidence provided today includes phone records, as well as new documents and materials produced to the Intelligence Committee by Lev Parnas, an associate of Rudy Giuliani, pursuant to a subpoena served on him on October 10, 2019. These materials are available to both the Majority and Minority of the Committees, and they will be made available to the White House. The phone records provided to the House Judiciary Committee contain sensitive personal information, and the Committees therefore will not be making them public.
Following the transmittal to the House Judiciary Committee of this additional evidence, Chairs Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Adam Schiff (D-CA), Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), and Eliot Engel (D-NY) issued the following statement:
“Since the House voted to impeach President Trump, we have continued our investigations so the House Managers can present to the Senate the most complete factual record possible before the trial on the Articles of Impeachment. Despite the President’s unprecedented and sweeping obstruction of our impeachment inquiry, we have continued to collect additional evidence relevant to the President’s scheme to abuse his power by pressing Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election for the President’s benefit.
“Today, additional new evidence will be provided to the House Judiciary Committee for its transmittal to the Senate along with the Articles of Impeachment.
“During the impeachment inquiry, we issued a subpoena to associates of Rudy Giuliani who were involved in the President’s scheme. One of those individuals is Lev Parnas, who responded to his subpoena by turning over a trove of documents that provide more information about the effort to coerce Ukraine into helping the President’s reelection campaign.
“These documents—and those recently released pursuant to Freedom of Information Act—demonstrate that there is more evidence relevant to the President’s scheme, but they have been concealed by the President himself. All of this new evidence confirms what we already know: the President and his associates pressured Ukrainian officials to announce investigations that would benefit the President politically. There cannot be a full and fair trial in the Senate without the documents that President Trump is refusing to provide to Congress.
“We will continue our investigative work and will make available to the Senate and the American people any additional evidence of the President’s misconduct as it is revealed.”

This take away cannot be singled out enough:
The White House violated federal law in its hold on security aid to Ukraine last year, according to a decision by a congressional watchdog released on Thursday and reviewed by The Washington Post.
The Government Accountability Office, a nonpartisan agency that reports to Congress, found the Trump administration violated a law that governs how the White House disburses money approved by Congress.
The GAO decision comes as the Senate prepares for the impeachment trial of President Trump, a process set to begin Thursday.
“Faithful execution of the law does not permit the President to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law,” the decision states. “OMB withheld funds for a policy reason, which is not permitted under the Impoundment Control Act.”
So Ukraine takes more of an interest in protecting a U.S. Ambassador than the U.S. does right now.
What is it about Rand Paul that makes him such a dogged supporter of Trump? His father was known as a maverick, but he’ll go down forever as just another toady.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) speaks to reporters ahead of the Senate impeachment trial. She also reacts to the GAO report saying the the White House Budget Office violated the law by withholding aid to Ukraine.
The Senate impeachment trial of President Trump begins with the reading of the impeachment articles and swearing-in of Chief Justice John Roberts & Senators. Final vote on the U.S., Mexico, Canada trade agreement is also expected.

FBI investigators went to the home and business of Connecticut congressional candidate Robert Hyde, who has been caught up in the scandal about efforts to remove US Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch from Ukraine on Thursday.
The agents were seen by CNN and their presence was confirmed by a law enforcement official. They were at the home early Thursday morning in Weatogue, Connecticut, before going to Hyde’s business in nearby Avon.
Hyde runs both his landscaping company and his campaign headquarters from the office. The investigators did not answer questions as to Hyde’s whereabouts or why they wanted to speak with him. No other details were provided.
Text messages show Hyde was involved in efforts to surveil and remove Yovanovitch from her post in Kiev.
