Re: Epistemic crisis. Epistemology, the Theory of Truth, is held to have been created by Plato and Aristotle. I.e., the theory that there is truth that can be distinguished from bullshit. Prior to that, there were the Sophists----bullshit artists–hence “sophistry.” Our present crisis, described in the article, is sophistry on a world-sized megaphone. So it’s not just liberal democracy that’s at stake; it’s the philosophical foundations of western civ itself.
