šŸæ Biden x Trump Dueling Town Halls (open thread)

Trump and Joe Biden will face off tonight in dueling town halls on different networks at the same time. Tonight was supposed to be the day of the second presidential debate, but Trump refused to participate when the Commission for Presidential Debates said it would be hosted virtually because of his COVID-19 diagnosis. After the Trump backed out of the second debate, the commission canceled the debate altogether. ABC, meanwhile, scheduled a town hall with Biden shortly after. On Wednesday, NBC announced that agreed to air a town hall with Trump at the same time that Biden will appear at an ABC town hall.

George Stephanopoulos will moderate the Biden town hall, while Savannah Guthrie of will moderate the Trump town hall.

Time

Both town halls are slated to start at 8 p.m. ET. Bidenā€™s will last for an hour and a half, while Trumpā€™s will last for an hour.

How To Watch

  • The Biden town hall will air on ABC
  • The Trump town hall will air on NBC

Both will be available on streaming platforms everywhere.

Hard to figure out who to watch first -
Trump - who will be crazed
Biden - who will keep it together, thoughtful, and in command.

I hope that there is a huge gaff for the Tā€¦like nuts. Not a stretch.

Even if he is low-key, and a slight stumblerā€¦but he is sounding Presidential

Earlier, Trump ducked a question about COVID-19, saying he did not remember when he last tested negative. He also defended holding a White House event with Amy Coney Barrett, after which numerous attendees tested positive.

Trump bristled as Guthrie continued to press him on his response to the virus.

ā€œI knew youā€™d be doing this,ā€ he said. ā€œI know you very well.ā€

About 60 voters, all wearing masks, attended the event at the PĆ©rez Art Museum in Miami.

The dueling events set up a ratings battle, as Trump hopes to tout the enthusiasm behind his campaign.

At a rally in Greenville, N.C., earlier in the day, Trump called the event a ā€œcon job.ā€

ā€œYou know, Iā€™m being set up tonight,ā€ he said. ā€œIā€™m doing this town hall with ā€˜Concast,ā€™ because itā€™s a con jobā€¦ Itā€™s NBC, the worst.ā€
