Absentee ballot saga in Iowa:
Thereâs a whole lot of hurricane season left.
Tweets in article.
Ashton Kutcher wants to help people in Iowa after this weekâs deadly derecho storm wreaked havoc in his home state. The actor grew up in Cedar Rapids, which was hit especially hard. On Friday, Kutcher asked President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence to âdo something,â tweeting, âWhere is the federal relief for Iowa?â
âWake up federal gov! What because itâs not called a tornado or hurricane you donât need to act fast?â he wrote. âCome On!!
Kutcher revealed earlier this week his âparents got hitâ and that he was going to âwork on somethingâ to help those in need. Parts of Iowa saw straight-line winds that reached nearly 100 mph as the storm ripped through the midwest on Monday. Three people have died in the state, USA Today reports, while one person died in Indiana. As of midday Friday, around 140,000 customers remained without power in Iowa.
The That â70s Show alum called out Pence, who campaigned in Iowa on Thursday.
During the âFarmers & Ranchers for Trumpâ event, Pence said he was âtaken aback to hear the magnitude of this storm and this impactâ before speaking about the presidentâs re-election campaign.
Kutcher tweeted President Trump directly with photos of the derecho stormâs damage.
President Trump addressed the devastation in a tweet on Tuesday.
âCool tweet. Crops are dying and people donât have electricity,â Kutcher declared.
Kutcher tweeted the president again, writing, âDoes Iowa not have enough electoral college votes for you?â
The president has not responded to the actor. Iowaâs Gov. Kim Reynolds said on Friday the state will submit its application for a federal disaster declaration on Monday.
This was literally my very first though that no, no it most likely doesnât.
