1/ The U.S. set another pandemic record with 90,456 new COVID-19 cases reported in a single day – set hours after the U.S. logged its 9 millionth coronavirus case. The country has reported more than 540,000 new coronavirus cases in the past week – the most for any seven-day period since July. Cases are on the rise in every swing state before Election Day and 14 states recorded all-time highs in new cases this week – the most of the pandemic. Trump, meanwhile, has continued to baselessly claim that “we are rounding the turn” on the pandemic. Pence, who chairs the White House’s coronavirus task force, hasn’t attended his own COVID-19 planning calls with all 50 governors in over a month. This is the work of the Remembrance Project, which claims to advocate on behalf of the families of victims of violence and tragedy but grossly misrepresents the level of crime committed by immigrants, routinely demonizes immigrants as “invaders,” and has a record of working with white nationalists.

In 2013, founder Maria Espinoza announced the first annual “National Day of Remembrance for Victims Killed by Illegal Aliens.” On her website Espinoza listed a number of “state directors” who were charged with organizing local events on that day with Stolen Lives Quits featuring Americans killed by undocumented immigrants.
