Day 215

1/ Trump put forward his strategy for resolving the nearly 16-year-old conflict in Afghanistan last night. He insisted he would “not talk about numbers of troops” needed or telegraph military moves, but hinted that he supports the Pentagon’s proposal to add nearly 4,000 troops to the roughly 8,400 Americans there now. Trump also said the US will shift away from a time-based approach to a results-based approach, declining to specify the benchmarks for success or a timetable for withdrawal. He added, however, that there would be no “blank check” for Afghanistan and that “a hasty withdrawal would create a vacuum for terrorists, including ISIS and Al Qaeda.” He described his plan as "principled realism." Um how did secessionist Confederate generals help to move us toward a more perfect union? They were by definition trying to destroy the union.

What doesn’t kill us? Who knows, the guy is awful on so many levels.

This was probably the most mind-boggling part of this article, not for political reasons…but its so childish.

When Mr. Trump addressed a Boy Scouts jamboree last month in West Virginia, White House aides told Senator Shelley Moore Capito, a Republican from the state whose support was in doubt, that she could only accompany him on Air Force One if she committed to voting for the health care bill.

To top it all off, he also lied about the state of Obamacare.

I mean, he did say we should celebrate the people who helped move the country forward, but conflates it with a defense on removing monuments to Confederate secessionists…

If Pence wants more monuments, great. How about monuments to the people who were tortured into building this country, and led slave rebellions and safe harbors? Works for me.

Yeah that is the worst.
