👋 Away Message: It's infrastructure week at WTF HQ! This will be the last edition of WTFJHT until May 31. WTF is taking a much needed break to retool ahead of what is shaping up to be a very consequential midterm cycle (we've also had a few unresolvable scheduling snafus/conflicts here, so I'm just going to take a mulligan on this one). A legal expert believes a grand jury investigation into Donald Trump’s theft of classified materials found in FIFTEEN boxes at Mar-A-Lago may show he stole them for personal profit.

This really was the stupidest coup attempt ever… yet it nearly succeeded.

The Jan. 6 committee has evidence that Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) “may have information” regarding a pre-riot Capitol tour on Jan. 5 - and it has a few questions for him.




In its letter to Rep. Loudermilk, the Jan 6 committee says its review of evidence “directly contradicts” claims by Republicans that security footage from days before 1/6 shows “[t]here were no tours, no large groups, no one with MAGA hats on.”
