Day 910

1/ Trump has been notified that he’s a target in the Jan. 6 criminal investigation by special counsel Jack Smith. Trump confirmed the development in a post on his personal social media platform, writing: “Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment.” The target letter indicates that another indictment could be imminent, though it’s unclear what kind of charges Trump could face. It is also not clear whether anyone else received a target letter. It is, however, the second time that Smith has notified Trump that he’s a target in a federal investigation. The first was in June in connection with his handling of classified documents after leaving office and his alleged efforts to obstruct the government’s investigation. Days later, a federal grand jury indicted Trump on 37 charges. In March, a Manhattan grand jury indicted Trump on state charges related to hush money payments during the 2016 presidential campaign. The district attorney in Fulton County, Ga., is also leading an ongoing investigation related to the 2020 election and attempts to overturn the state’s results. One thing missing from this day’s news is how Republicans were able to successfully cut out 3 earmarked funds for LGBT housing projects and services (out of the 3,800 up for review and approval). They also put in a requirement to remove funding for Pride Flags being flown at government parks and centers (which would include Stonewall Inn which the Pride celebrations spur from in the fight for equal rights for LGBT Americans). It also offers “protection from discrimination” for those government employees that speak or act with the belief that marriage is between one man and one woman. That’s a pretty big WTF story! :exploding_head:
