Day 914

1/ House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler said there is "very substantial evidence" in Robert Mueller's report that Trump is "guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors." House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff added that it was "clear" that the Justice Department feels bound by an Office of Legal Counsel opinion that prevents indicting a sitting president, alleging that Trump "is an essentially unindicted co-conspirator." The House Judiciary Committee would be in charge of leading impeachment proceedings if the House decided to move forward with articles of impeachment. Mueller is scheduled to testify on July 24th in front of both the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees in back-to-back public hearings, where he will answer questions about the contents of his report and his 22-month-long investigation. Well, this is definitely illegal and will get challenged.

The Trump administration has finalized a plan to bypass immigration courts and deport undocumented immigrants who cannot prove they’ve been present continuously in the U.S. for two years or more.

Trump just basically stated he’s going to heap more penalties and woes onto Guatemala, where thousands are fleeing to escape drought, famine, and violence. This, of course, will make things worse, and guarantee more refugees for Trump to point at and crow about before his minions bar or torture them

This article, previously posted, says it all:

‘Food Doesn’t Grow Here Anymore. That’s Why I Would Send My Son North.’

Trump made promises to restore coal to get votes. Then he cut the regulations that protect their health & safety AND cut the tax that funds their healthcare for work related illness & injury.

Some highlights of FBI head Christopher Wray testimony in front of Congress. Each party is trying to wedge in their POV (R’s Sen Cruz - anti-Antifa causes. Dems =Sen Leahy, Coons, Hirono - talking about FBI’s protection of the country via gun protection, awareness of Holocaust, 911 for FBI agents, and what kinds of counter-intelligence pursuits the FBI has been pursuing. Dem Sen Leahy wants similar transparent release of 302’s for the Mueller report in the same way information on HIllary emails went to the R’s.

FBI head Wray comes off as competent. He calls Mueller - consummate professional and someone whose work is accurate.

Trump claimed Article 2 of the Constitution gives him the right to do ‘whatever I want as president,’ but that’s not true

Here is your moment of Zen.

US senate passes 9/11 first responder bill championed by Jon Stewart

Bill effectively makes compensation fund for victims of the terror attacks permanent

Awesome moment: Jon Stewart embraces a crying John Feal, the 9/11 first responder who led the organization pushing for the full extension of the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund, just after the bill passed in the Senate 97-2:
