The administration is rejecting requests from U.S. embassies to fly the rainbow flag on flagpoles during June, LGBTQ Pride Month, say 3 U.S. diplomats.
Apparently this began in 2018 after embassies flew the rainbow flag in response to the Orlando night club shooting. How petty:

Department Of Education Wasted $1 Billion On Failed Charter Schools
A new report issued by the Network for Public Education provides a detailed accounting of how charter schools have scammed the U.S. Department of Education’s Charter Schools Program (CSP) for up to $1 billion in wasted grant money that went to charters that never opened or opened for only brief periods of time before being shut down for mismanagement, poor performance, lack of enrollment, or fraud. The report also found many of the charters receiving grant awards that managed to stay open fall far short of the grant program’s avowed mission to create “high-quality” schools for disadvantaged students.

The viral crowdfunding effort to build a wall on the southern border aimed at deterring immigrants from crossing illegally was only recently completed, but on Monday the newly installed wall suffered a major setback — a large gate built into the barrier was ordered open indefinitely by officials.
The controversial half-mile wall constructed along the US–Mexico border near Sunland Park, New Mexico, was erected earlier this month after organizers raised more than $23 million on GoFundMe, the online crowdfunding site. But We Build the Wall organizers failed to obtain the required authorization to build the barrier on federal land, cutting off access to waterways and a public monument.
“This is normally done well in advance of a construction project,” said Lori Kuczmanski, a spokesperson for the International Boundary and Water Commission, the agency that addresses waterway issues between the US and Mexico. "They think they can build now and ask questions later, and that’s not how it works."
Republicans used to stand for upholding the rule of law. Now they stand for violating it.

Today is Superman day.
We like to think of Superman as this invincible monolith who exists outside the real world.
But in 1946 Superman beat the KKK and helped change the course of history.
For real.
After human rights activist Stetson Kennedy was declared 4F in WWII, he chose instead to infiltrate the KKK. He delivered information on them to the FBI, police, prosecutors, journalists, and human rights organizations.
He also delivered information on them, including their rituals and code words, to the creators of the hugely popular Superman radio serial, The Adventures of Superman.
At this time, the Klan was on the rise, particularly in the north, gaining power in politics and the police.
In a 14-episode story arc, the Clan of the Fiery Cross, Superman took on the KKK.
The KKK fought back, boycotting the show & its sponsor, Kellogg’s. Kellogg’s stood by the show.
Superman won. And the KKK suffered a massive blow, their secrets revealed, their members cast as sneering, hypocritical, un-American cartoon villains.
The KKK is not gone, sadly, but it was dealt a mortal blow that day. That is what I celebrate on Superman Day.
How one invincible Man of Steel… and one very vulnerable but brave Man of Flesh… took on cowards in robes and masks and stripped them bare for the world to see.
