I’m sure most of you have heard of Zach Wahls – if not by name but as the “guy who gave the speech about growing up with two moms in front of the Iowa state legislature” (in 2011) or as the founder of Scouts for Equality.
He announced today, he is running for the Iowa state senate! Here is a portion of his announcement that I believe is super important:

I haven’t heard of this person, but they sound pretty good. Hopefully the campaign plays out clean for him. I’m guessing, like with Danica Roem, they’ll go for low hanging fruit on Zach, which, if he sticks to policy messages, is going to work out in his favor.
Then again, I don’t know what Iowa politics are like.
What Iowa politics is like: bipolar disorder (no disrespect meant to anyone; I’m Bipolar II myself). They swing so far to the left and right, back and forth, back and forth, and then there’s Chuck Grassley.
