Latest update re: Fusion GPS/Congressional Interview Transcripts
Tomorrow, the House Intelligence Committee at 9am EST will take a vote on whether to release the transcript from their interview with Fusion GPS. Only a simple majority is needed in order for the transcript to be released.
Update: HPSCI could drop the transcript as early as today!
(@MissJava: get ready! )
Ahhhhh! MY BODY IS READY
This is getting interestingā¦
Itās hereeeeeeā¦
HPSCI & Fusion GPS Transcript!
- 1/18/18 Meeting to release Fusion GPS transcript: transcript
- 11/14/17 Fusion GPS & HPSCI interview: transcript
And weāre off to a lovely start:
Trey Gowdy (p. 9):
āā¦but you also used the word āfacts,ā and what did you mean when you used the word āfactsā?ā
Oh, boyā¦this is a train wreck:
Page 19:
MR. SIMPSON: Yes. I mean, I know that they are - the DNC is a client of Perkins Coie. I donāt - I didnāt see it ā nobody gave me a document or informed me specifically of that.
MR. GOWDY: Did you think the law firm was just doing it on their own?
MR. SIMPSON: Iām sorry, I donāt understand your question.
MR. GOWDY: Did you think the law firm was just doing it on their own?
MR. SIMPSON: Doing what? Doing ā
MR. GOWDY: Opposition research into candidate Trump.
MR. SIMPSON: No.
MR. GOWDY: Paying you to do opposition research into candidate Trump, did you think Perkins Coie was doing that on their own?
MR. SIMPSON: No, sir. What Iām trying to explain is that I have been in Washington for several decades, and I spent a lot of time on Capitol Hill and it was well-known to me that Perkins Coie represented the DNC.
We threw a line in the water and Moby Dick came back
Kinda feel like I should go get a smoking jacket and sit in front of the fire swirling a tumbler of scotch to read this.

Now the link says file not found!
Yeahā¦wtf. It is still on CNBC thank fuck.
Gah so much rage: Comey announced the reopening of #ButHerEmails investigation, didnāt think it worth mentioning that the FBI was also investigating drumpf. Major media outlets knew too!
I know right?! What is up with the FBI during this time period?! Didnāt Harry Reid write Comey a letter that summer asking him to make the Trump investigation public? Seems like a lot of people knew but no one wanted to have that public discussion.
I still havenāt made it through all of it (stupid work! lol)ā¦but itās looking like the HPSCI transcript seems to be much more plentiful in new details than the SJC did. Iām sure the fact that it seemed much less formal and he was originally subpoenas to be interviewed (which was withdrawn).
@MissJava @Pet_Proletariat If you still canāt download it, here is a Dropbox link to download it (I was finally able to load it!): Dropbox - Error
Also, anyone using the Dropbox link to download - I apologize for my highlights! I forgot to save a ācleanā copy to share!
Thank you!
ikr! It sounds like Steele was pretty fucking alarmed too.
#samesies Can NOT wait until work/errands are over today. And youāre spot on about the informality, I feel like Iām reading a fast-paced novel sometimes.
Right?! I was up until 3am last night reading it (still not done)ā¦because I lost track of time! Iāll have some notes shortlyā¦itās just mind-boggling!
There was quite a few standout remarks from todayās hearing. I think one of the most notable was Director Wrayās comment re: the Russia Investigation in response to Senator Harrisā question.
āIām not going to discuss the investigation in question with the President, much less provide information from the investigation to him.ā
x-posting more details
Former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg arrived at District Court in Washington, DC, Friday morning, where he is expected to deliver federal grand jury testimony as part of special counsel Robert Muellerās investigation.

I 2nd that! @MissJava & @michelle did excellent work on this!! Iāve only skimmed so far, I need to get mentally in that āplaceā to fully read and actually digest it allā¦
Iāve actually read the entire CP testimony (and no Iām not okay) and Iāve been dying to share some of my favorite passages from it because it was just. too. much.
First off, there needs to be a drinking game in which you take a shot every single time Carter mentions that itās actually him who was attacked. This dudes reputation should be the top priority of the federal government and should be declared a national emergency.
Moving on, one of the biggest questions I had with Page is, if the meeting had nothing to do with the campaign, why the hell did he share his travels to there with the administration? And I was so happy when they asked about it. This is what he said:
Since when has the military= politics? Iām not a veteran myself but Iām pretty sure that I wouldnāt constantly message my higher ups about every aspect of my life if it was not expected of me to do. Does anybody else find this weird? Especially later when they read part of the email
Page constantly would try and talk about facts about every single aspect of the Obama/Clinton conspiracy that ādestroyed his lifeā. Yet, when asked about Russian interference, he suddenly becomes uncomfortable with talking about things that he has no clue about. Which is typical refraction imo.
This part was super interesting to me:
So a little backstory is pretty important to understanding this. Page worked for the Trump campaign until the Dossier was released and his life was ādestroyedā. At this point, he lost his job and was apparently going through his savings. Yet, he decided taking a trip to Russia was a good idea at this time?
Speaking of dossier:
Heās seriously good at refraction.
Later, you find out that he was meeting with Hungarian officials which spoiler alert: are very supportive of Russia.
Heās also very careful on how he answers. I mean, how could you forget whether or not you asked for funding with government officials? (see below)
And my personal favorite: A self-possessed scholar who travels the world to talk in front of the top economic colleges, apparently does not understand what hypocritical means.
I almost quite reading so many times but right when I was about to give up, he says something stupid and I had to keep going.
I have a feeling this is going to be a common occurrence with testimonies. Matt should hire me.
