FFS.

Dinesh D’Souza appears to not understand how hemispheres work, as he seems to be unaware that it’s winter presently in Australia.

At least they are finally getting some precipitation! If he was really concerned about those people in the outback of Australia he would know that the Australian farmers are in the grip of a drought that has lasted for years.
a close up of a map: The latest map from BoM shows dramatically low levels of rainfall from April to August 2018

My wife an I visited Canberra last year on our way home from our annual pilgrimage to our family and mokopuna (grandchildren) in Perth WA. I have never seen a land so parched. Not a blade of grass to be seen. Any precipitation, whether rain, or snow, is something heaven sent as far as those there are concerned.
BTW the Southern Antarctic Oscillation is breaking down (although not to the same degree yet as is occurring with the Northern Arctic Oscillation) as the Earth continues to heat. This means that on occasions the fridge door is left open and we endure a strong southerly blast in the winter months bringing snow. Just as you in the Northern Hemisphere can experience strong northerlies bringing extremely cold weather patterns to America during your winter seasons.

I hope that New Hampshire will see through both these idiot candidates…T and Lewandowski. But NH is a red state…

WTF

President Donald Trump’s Thursday evening rally in Manchester, N.H., is ostensibly about ginning up support for his reelection campaign.

But the state’s establishment GOP class is worried he’ll use the event to do something else: Talk up Corey Lewandowski’s potential 2020 Senate bid.

And Dave Carney, a longtime New Hampshire-based strategist who’s worked on an array of statewide Republican campaigns, called the idea of a Lewandowski candidacy a “joke.”

“He adds nothing to the ticket and doesn’t help the president or the ticket in any way,” Carney said. “Corey is a political hack. Political hacks make bad candidates generally.”

Snap

A new campaign phrase…R voters have Trumpgret in New Hampshire

AND here’s some Republican comments on that (btw-T lost NH by 1600 votes in 2016)

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — When Chad Johansen voted for Donald Trump in 2016, he hoped he was picking someone who could help small-business owners compete with bigger companies. But that hasn’t happened, and now the 26-year-old owner of NH iPhone Repair feels what he calls “Trumpgret.

The Republican president has done little to address health care issues for a small employer, he said, and the Manchester man remains on edge about how Trump’s tariffs could affect his business, which employs fewer than 10 people. Beyond that, he said, unrelenting news about bigotry and racism in the Trump administration is “a turnoff.

An August University of New Hampshire Survey Center poll found that 42% of New Hampshire adults approve of Trump while 53% disapprove. The poll also showed that 49% approve of Trump’s handling of the economy and 44% disapprove.

But wait, Ghislaine is actually eating burgers at an IN-N-OUT Burger in Los Angeles. True, today, she’s been spotted and she’s not in MA. And reading a book on CIA Operatives called The Book of Honor: The Secret Lives and Deaths of CIA Operatives.

She’s signalling something.

Why go there? At all. Netanyahu is acting as bizarre as T. …WTFWTFWTF

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sparked public uproar when on Tuesday he claimed that the Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, was the one who planted the idea of the extermination of European Jewry in Adolf Hitler’s mind. The Nazi ruler, Netanyahu said, had no intention of killing the Jews, but only to expel them.

In a speech before the World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem, Netanyahu described a meeting between Husseini and Hitler in November, 1941: "Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time, he wanted to expel the Jew. And Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said, ‘If you expel them, they’ll all come here (to Palestine).’ According to Netanyahu, Hitler then asked: “What should I do with them?” and the mufti replied: “Burn them.”

China’s Plan to Conquer the South China Sea: Start Sinking Navy Aircraft Carriers

(David Bythewood) #97

It sounds like the Syfy-Asylum movie of the week!!!

(M A Croft) #98

Yes @Windthin. We here “down under” have been keeping a close eye on the machinations of China wrt the South China Sea for some time. China of course regards this stretch of water as its own despite the claims of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines. This talk by Admiral Lou was reported in the NZ Herald in Jan this year.

(David Bythewood) #99

Sounds like the same kind of gross miscalculation Japan made with Pearl Harbor if China thinks that would cow most Americans instead of riling them up. That is a recipe for a war the world cannot afford.

As a retired Naval Officer I totally agree. It is difficult to justify any war actually. But the expansion of China into the South China Sea and the building up of a couple of semi-submerged rocks and transforming them into an airfield in the middle of an area under dispute is hardly a peaceable activity.
