âHeâs screwed over so many publishersâ: Trump confronts a skeptical book industry
The former president insists he has offers from two of the âmost prestigious publishing houses.â None of the major five said they extended one.

This is wild. QAnonsense folks are angry at Trump for announcing a December tour with Bill OâReilly.
Not because Billy boy is a sexual harassing dip, but because they were POSITIVE Trump would be reinstated by August!
Trumpâs announcement of rallies with Bill OâReilly sets off furious backlash among QAnon supporters
According to a report from Newsweek, Donald Trumpâs announcement that he will be touring with former Fox News personality Bill OâReilly in December was greeted with dismay and incredulity by QAnon followers who believed he would already have been reinstalled as president in August.
The tour, which will include stops in Sunrise, Florida, then Orlando before moving on to Houston and ending in Dallas on December 19, carries a ticket price of $100, with Trump announcing, âMy tour with Bill OâReilly is getting a lot of attention, and Iâm looking forward to it. Maybe tickets would make a great Fatherâs Day gift? In any event, Iâll see you then, and much sooner.â
That announcement set off a flurry of comments on Telegram â a popular forum for QAnon adherents â who reacted with confusion and anger.
According to Newsweekâs Ewan Palmer, âSupporters of the radical movement expressed concerns that Trump going on a speaking tour later this year surely means that he will not be returning a presidentâa false claim they have continued to believe since he lost the 2020 election more than seven months ago.â
As one Telegram user, identified as Peace Lilly, wrote, âOK I GUESS MY QUESTION IS TRUMP COMING BACK? WHY WOULD HE BE DOING A TOUR THRU THE END OF THE YEAR WITH OâREILLY. HMMMMMMMMM SOMETHING DOESNâT FEEL RIGHT?.â
âSo nothing will happen until December?â wrote another, with a third adding, âMan I sure hope we donât have to wait that long before youâre back in office.â
âItâs only a few dates close togetherâŠit could be done if it works out like it shouldâŠcould cancelâŠbut yupâŠkinda a gut punch statement. But we are in an information war, so who the hell knows,â wrote another with Trump supporter Angela Baldwin writing, âSo basically the August thing is a bunch of bull because a reinstated President doesnât go on tour.â
Newsweeksâ Palmer added that many QAnon followers are still pinning their hopes on the Arizona ballot audit, believing it will set in motion overturning the 2020 presidential election results and reinstall Trump in the Oval Office.

Court Suspends Giulianiâs Law License, Citing Trump Election Lies
The former mayor of New York, who was once the top federal prosecutor in Manhattan, is now barred from practicing law in the state.
TFG and Jason Miller have seriously started a social network with the very rapey name of GETTR and⊠wow. That logo.
I think âGutterâ would be more appropriate.
Also, I fixed their GETTR logoâŠ
Trumpworld App Is Bankrolled by Fugitive Chinese Billionaire
GETTR CREATR?
Trump adviser Jason Miller launched a new social media company thatâs being bankrolled by a buddy of pardoned Trump strategist Steve Bannon.
A new social media network led by Donald Trump adviser Jason Miller is backed by a fugitive Chinese billionaire who once invited Steve Bannon to live on his yacht.
On Thursday, Miller announced the launch of âGettr,â a new social media app aimed at conservatives that promises to be âcancel-free.â Trump fans wary of social media censorship on more prominent platforms like Twitter and Facebook started to sign up for the platform after Politico reported on the existence of the new site.
Whatâs not made clear to Gettrâs new users, though, is that the site received initial funding from a foundation owned by Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui and his family. In an interview with The Daily Beast on Thursday, Miller said Guoâs âfamily foundationâ provided Gettr with early funding.
âSome of the initial seed money has come from his family foundation,â Miller said of Guo, who also goes by the name Miles Kwok.
Guo isnât a direct investor in Gettr, according to Miller, and doesnât have a seat on its board or other formal role. The Trump adviser said the company was backed by a âconsortium of international investors,â but declined to name them, beyond the Guo foundation, or the total amount of money that has been invested in the new social-media property so far. But while Miller downplayed Guoâs connection, sites associated with the billionaire have suggested that Gettr is Guoâs brainchild.
In a June video on GTV, a media outlet that serves as a mouthpiece for Guo, a host summarizing a recent Guo made about Getter said that the social media platform was âthe concentration of Milesâs whole life work.â The host added that Guo had come up with the idea for Gettrâs logo, a torch.
âThis logo of Gettr is his idea, representing that Gettr will ignite the hope of mankind and the spirit of the Olympic games,â the host read.
Miller told The Daily Beast he wasnât sure who came up with the torch logo. When The Daily Beast asked Guo for comment, Guoâs staff forwarded the request to Miller.
Other websites associated with Guo have promoted Gettr for weeks, even though the siteâs existence wasnât widely known until Politico first reported on it Thursday.
Two weeks ago, a bizarre ad for Gettr was posted on GTVâs video channel. The video features actors in stock footage reacting with delight to images of Gettrâs website that have been superimposed over the footage. The ad promises that Gettr will be âgossipyâ and feature âvirus truth,â an apparent reference to Guoâs claims that the Chinese government was behind the coronavirus pandemic. Videos of Guo appear prominently in the ad, suggesting that the billionaire would be one of the siteâs main attractions.
Guo, a vocal critic of the Chinese government who is wanted in that country on corruption charges, has developed close ties to top Trump allies. The billionaire paid former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon at least $1 million dollars, and teamed up with him to promote a Chinese doctorâs claims that the coronavirus was created by the Chinese government. When federal authorities arrested Bannon on fraud charges in August 2020, they found him on a yacht owned by Guo.
The new social media platformâs ties to Guo go beyond his family investment.
Bill Marczak and John Scott-Railton, senior researchers at the University of Torontoâs Citizen Lab, analyzed Gettrâs underlying code for The Daily Beast and found numerous connections between Gettr and other Guo-related apps and online media platforms.
An earlier iteration of Gettr called âGetome,â which Guo once praised as a key part of his global strategy, also suggests that the billionaire has significant ties to Gettr.
Googleâs Play Store and Appleâs App Store both list an obscure company, Chainnov Inc, as the owner of Gettr. Chainnov is also the owner of Getome. In the interview with The Daily Beast, Miller described Getome as an earlier iteration of Gettr.
Guo, whose media includes a number of attempts at alternative social platforms, hyped Getome in a May article on his G-News site.
âGive me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world,â Guo bragged about Getome. âG-News, G-TV, and Getome are at the point that can move the earth.â
Guoâs legions of social media supporters and trolls were among the first and most vocal adopters of Gettr starting on June 14, the day the appâs site went live.
Pro-Guo Twitter users hyped the app as an improved version of Getome and encouraged users to migrate their accounts to it.
They also told Getome users hoping to log in to Gettr that their old Getome credentials would allow them to access accounts on Gettr. Getome has since disappeared from Googleâs Play Store, and its website is now inaccessible. But shortly before it went down, Getomeâs site included promotion and a link to Gettr, according to archives of the site accessible in Googleâs cache.
Gettr faces a number of rival social media platforms seeking to become the go-to network for conservatives. And while Trump establishing an account on Gettr would instantly turn the site into a significant name on the right, Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Jacobs tweeted on Thursday that Trump has involvement with the site and doesnât plan to join.
âHe knows that we would love him to join the platform,â Miller told The Daily Beast. âWe have âRealDonaldTrumpâ saved for him.â The Trump confidant added that heâs recently spoken to the ex-president about joining the new platform, but declined to go into detail about those conversations.
Even at this early stage and without the former presidentâs commitment, Gettrâs connections to the upper echelons of Trumpworld are unmistakable. According to Miller, Tim Murtaugh, a fellow senior official on Trumpâs reelection campaign, is âworking on the media affairs sideâ of Gettr. In a text message on Thursday evening, Murtaugh corroborated this, saying that heâd doing so in a âconsultingâ capacity.
Despite Bannonâs close ties to Guo, Miller said Bannon does not have a formal position with Gettr. Guoâs business dealings with Bannon were reportedly the subject of a federal investigation in connection with fundraising for Guoâs GTV Media Group.
And though Gettr is being branded as an âanti-cancel-cultureâ haven, some of its terms of service appear to resemble that of other social-media sites that have banned prominent figures, such as former President Trump, following the Jan. 6 riot on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
Miller said on Thursday that Gettr users âdo not have a right toâŠbully, harass, or stalk others,â or to âtraffic in homophobic or racial or religious slurs, or promote hate speech, or encourage self-harm or illegal behavior, or dox people, or post sexually explicit content.â Such Gettr behavior that is deemed as crossing the line could get a user booted by moderators, as is standard with major social-media websites.
The Trump adviser also mentioned that âcontent depicting violenceâŠsuch as beheadingââspecifically referencing liberal comic and actress Kathy Griffinâs famous anti-Trump photoâwould not qualify as âfree political speechâ on Gettr.
And in an apparent bid to lure users from other platforms and grow its user base, Gettr allows Twitter users to import their content onto the platform. But Millerâs new site is already facing growing pains. Some new users reported that the site had encouraged them to follow a user named âHitlerâ that used the German dictatorâs face as its profile picture.
Gettr has also grappled with the appearance of at least one Miller imposter. Shortly after Gettrâs launch, an account called âJason Millerâ amassed hundreds of followers and claimed that Trump would soon join the social network. The account was later suspended.
Guo has also courted President Trumpâs then-personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani.
In the runup to the 2020 election, pro-Guo pundits teased the existence of a Biden laptop âbombshellâ weeks before news that Giuliani had obtained Hunter Bidenâs device. After social media networks suspended or limited the reach of materials taken from Hunter Bidenâs laptop, Guoâs social media platforms became one of the few places hosting materials from the laptop, including revenge porn of Hunter Biden, while Guo posed for pictures with Giuliani smoking cigars.
The linked video is worth looking at. The quality of it is SO bad, with stock footage actors over-reacting, rampant anti-Chinese government stuff that most Americans wonât care about, badly-superimposed graphics and video⊠Iâve seen Kickstarter scams with better production values.

Another one bites the dust.
I just got a scam call claiming to be from U.S. Customs and Border patrol saying theyâd confiscated a package full of drugs with my name on it. Naturally, they have no idea what my name is, so I answered it, put on my best Texas accent, told them I was Ronny Jackson, spelled my name for them, gave them a zip code for Dallas, TX, and then once the guy rattled off a bunch of legalese intended to baffle me, I asked him if I got the drugs. He asked me again if I knew anything about the case, I asked him if I got the drugs, and he hung up.
Dang.
My wife was in the room at the time trying her very hardest not to crack up.
